ONEVOICE NEVER SILENCED
THE HOME FOR ALL BE YOU MAN, WOMAN OR CHILD.  WE ARE HERE TO COCOON, SERVE & PROTECT.

The Protection Of Victims Act 2014  - EVE'S LAW POLICE CAMPAIGN

IT IS MY MISSION TO ENSURE ALL ORGANISATIONS BOTH GOVERNMENT AND NGO UNDERSTAND THE RISKS AND DANGERS OF A SAFE ADDRESS DISCLOSURE/EXPOSURE

MISSION:

For ALL PCC's to support Eve's Law and the national red flag system Eve's Marker becoming primary legislation

To work with the National Centre for Domestic Violence

ALL employees of ALL Police forces to have knowledge of the Assist Database

ALL domestic violence/abuse victims to be referred to NCDV for anti molestion orders/injunctions

That ALL employees of ALL Police forces understand the risks and dangers of a SAFE address disclosure/exposure and ensure that referrals are made to the appropriate agencies to ensure the victims safety.

That ALL resources are investigated and used to ensure the victims safety and protection - home alarms, metal letter box covers, CCTV etc - if resources are a problem lets talk about this, lets get it out in the open - victims must come first.

Eve Thomas, CEO OneVoice Never Silenced leading a national victims campaign for Eve's Law and a Police Campaign led by Shaun Wright PCC for South Yorkshire
Eve x

Led by Shaun Wright - Police & Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire & his Deputy Tracey Cheetham

Police & Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire Shaun Wright who is leading the Police Campaign for Eve's Law. Domestic violence, abuse, victims.

Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire Tracey Cheetham
The Police & Crime Commissioner's (PCC) role is relatively new and requires each one to pledge an oath to represent 'all section of the public without fear or favour.'

THE FULL OATH:

"Full Name of Place do solemnly and sincerely promise that I will serve all the people of Police Force Area in the office of Police and Crime Commissioner without fear or favour.
I will act with integrity and diligence in my role and, to the best of my ability, will execute the duties of my office to ensure that the police are able to cut crime and protect the public.
I will give a voice to the public, especially victims of crime and work with other services to ensure the safety of the community and effective criminal justice.
I will take all steps within my power to ensure transparency of my decisions, so that I may be properly held to account by the public.
I will not seek to influence or prevent any lawful and reasonable investigation or arrest, nor encourage any police action save that which is lawful and justified within the bounds of this office."

I like this oath, especially the 3rd paragraph and so I began work on the Eve's Law Police Campaign, the contact from Deputy PCC Tracey Cheetham was very welcome and paved the way forward for the launch of the campaign.

Eve's Law Campaign gained national media coverage  and victims began to come forward, bad practise was highlighted up and down the country - this - please read - should NOT be happening and so I began to contact all PCC's on Twitter highlighting the Assist Database and the National Centre for Domestic Violence - NCDV

A uniformed Police service is needed as a matter of urgency:

As soon as a victim of domestic violence/abuse reports an alleged crime to the Police and the Officer has ascertained that he/she is able to proceed to take a statement a referral should be made to NCDV - the Police should not be relying on being able to obtain a restraining order.  An application for anti molestation order/injunction can only be made if there has been an incident of violence/abuse within 10 days - Family Law Act.  Victims are being left without any protection during a period when they are in fact at heightened risk due to reporting.

ALL employees of the Police should have knowledge of the Assist Database, from response to tweeters, control room to Commanders and Chief.  ALL anti molestation orders/injunctions from NCDV are recorded on the Assist Database - it take 2 minutes for an Officer to access the order and verify the terms - paperwork is NOT needed from the victim.

Both myself and NCDV will be making contact with all PCC's - victims safety and protection MUST come first and with this in mind I state the following:

Police
If a victim of domestic violence/abuse/rape etc informs you that their SAFE address has been exposed/disclosed PLEASE recognise the risk and danger of this - a SAFE address is a SAFE address for a reason!
I know resources are a problem, I know you have targets to meet but this HAS to be about victims and their safety and protection - how many more murders and serious assaults etc does it really take?
